I purchased this as a gift to the lady that does my taxes and advises me on tax and small business accounting matters. But that is somewhat irrevelent other than it gave me an excuse to purchase one of these knives.
I can say I recommend it highly for its utility at one's desk, the environment it was intended for. The Wharncliffe straight edged blade is perfect for the daily tasks of opening mail, trimming out photos, cutting tape, string, apples, etc. that you might find around the office.
The knife is not large being just a bit bigger than the Case Sway Back Jack, but the size is just about perfect for the office. The knife I bought is the one with "Office Knife" etch on the handle which in itself is smooth white bone; no cheap plastic here. Also supplied with the knife is a very well made sheath to protect the knife from the junk in your desk drawer and to protect you from its edge. This is a real knife and it is quite capable of cutting you if you pitch it into the dark confines of a desk drawer without the sheath.
This knife is not inexpensive, but then no corners have been cut to provide a high quality tool for your office chores. The only way to get a better one is to hire a custom maker to provide you with one. The blade steel on this knife is a better grade of high carbon stainless steel than they put in their regular production pocket cutlery. No Tru-Sharp here; you get 154CM.
I like it a lot. You will too. If you gift it to someone, as I did, they are sure to appreciate both the gift and the giver.
